FUE And FUT: What Is The Difference?

Hair Restoration

In the hair restoration industry today, there are a vast assortment of treatments on the market. This can be overwhelming and confusing at times, until you realize that the biggest difference you should consider in any hair restoration process is the results. When it comes to results, there are simply no other hair replacement procedures that offer the permanence and natural look and feel as a hair transplant. Hair transplants are minor outpatient surgical procedures that allow for the harvesting of a patient’s own hair to be grafted in areas where hair loss has been experienced.

Our patient base is changing

Hair Restoration

We have had an increase of providing hair loss solutions to females. I believe the hair transplant has been predominately focused as an answer for men and until more recently women were not made aware that this could be a solution for them. A great percent of the women I examine have thinning of the central scalp area where parting becomes noticeably affected. Also, the hair line becomes uneven and the temple area thins. Fortunately these problems are repairable as long as there is healthy donor hair available. In some cases when I consult a patient experiencing typical female pattern baldness (diffuse thinning of the entire scalp) a non-surgical solution is the only possible answer. We are seeing a good percentage of positive growth from the injection procedures and are expecting to be able to increase the that percentage with the addition of Fat Cell Grafting. Still the best answer for qualified female candidates is an FUT and or FUE surgical restoration.

My Thoughts on Hair Restoration Today

Hair Restoration

From my years of experience examining and consulting with men and women suffering the many forms of alopecia, it has become evident that the majority of solutions to hair loss are fruitless. I consistently hear patients report that they have tried every cream, spray, shampoo, foam, vitamin, prescription, laser treatment, shake on make-up, and finally resort to wearing a hat. None of these solutions seem to produce cosmetically acceptable hair restoration. We are not alone (I am also a male pattern baldness victim). In fact, millions of men and women have experimented with these well-advertised and promising hair restoration solutions and statistically an overwhelming majority report nothing but frustrations and disappointments. To be fair, I have also heard and seen a few positive outcomes in the area of extending the life of existing hair and stimulation rebirth of existing dormant hair follicles in the scalp crown area.

I do not condemn or condone the use of anything that a patient trusts and has confidence in using. The psychology of positive thinking and possibility is always beneficial and may be productive. I am a student of all of these products and will freely give knowledge so that a patient can make an informed decision in their quest to solve a hair loss problem.

We at CapriHair provide only proven surgical restoration procedures and treatments that we believe are productive and promising in developing the future of our field of medicine. We have witnessed positive outcomes using injections and have embarked on FSG (Fat Cell Grafting) treatments with promising results.
